- Commitment of senior business management to provide significant end-user involvement
- Incremental delivery
- Easy access by developers to end-users

- Project team should be highly skilled people in terms of both the business area as well as the technical environment
- Size of the project team should be small in order to minimize the overheads of management and communication
- Solution technology that allows iterative development, demonstrable work products and control of versions.
