Before we move on to the next LeSS Courses, I promised myself, that I will answer in public some of the valuable Questions that came up during The amazing Riga Course last month, so here we go:
One of the guys asked this interesting Question: What is agile architecture?
What makes sense to me when discussing "Agile architecture" is avoiding seeing architecture as a phase in the product's life-cycle and look at it as an ongoing investment throughout the life of the system.
Besides that i think that "Agile Architecture" is a term that should not even exist.
A good software architecture is one that inherently and deliberately supports changes (not everywhere!), it is designed in a way that allows for the cost of change to be reduced in the areas in the product that are impacted where business changes are expected. There will often be situation in which some major redesign is needed, and as long as this is a result of an unexpected shift in business - that makes sense to me.
To achieve "Agile architecture" one must know how to model a system in a way that supports the above principle, and this, has nothing to do with Agile and a lot to do with skilled software people.
Thank you Riga for the interesting Question, I will publish more soon....And for everyone else, if you want to join one of my LeSS courses, please check if there is a course in your area, and feel free to enjoy the early birds price...

7 年"the only thing that makes sense" is precisely the sense of the term i guess (but of course i totally agree with you anyhow that you should best avoid the term)
