What is The African Safari?
For many, it’s an exotic dream of mystery and adventure in a far-away land. Filled with impossible images of lions, giraffes, and elephants on a golden, magical Savanah. It’s a someday wish wrapped up in distant hopes.
But for others, a safari to Africa’s wildlife parks is a yearly getaway – an earned and expected reward. It’s a regular holiday full of familiar sightings, landscapes, and friends.
And then for some lucky folks… well, they’re on the verge of their first trip to the African continent. Filled with excitement and giddy expectations, they’re busy assembling their new safari gear, eager for that electric moment when they first hit the road in their safari Jeep.
An African safari means different things for all of us but no one can escape the feeling of light and space when first arriving on the savannah, nor the unmistakable jolt when spotting your first lion. A safari to Africa raises these deeply etched moments beyond words. ?
Kenya – Where the Safari Was Born
There are plenty of places to see the big game in Africa, but the safari began in Kenya. Our system of wildlife parks is extensive and well-managed. We boast 24 national parks, 15 national reserves, and even 6 marine parks. Plus, Kenya is flush with private conservancies – special lands owned by the Maasai and other tribes that offer a unique safari experience.
Iconic parks like Tsavo, Amboseli, and the Masai Mara are beacons for safari-lovers all over the world. Where else but Kenya can you spot great families of elephants strolling in front of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro? Only here can you find the greatest movement of animals on the planet, the millions of herding wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles of the Great Migration.
Plus, the snorkeling, diving, and marine life of whales, dolphins, and thousands of iridescent fish at Kenya’s marine parks are world-class.

Surf And Turf
Although you may not know it, Kenya is famous for its spectacular coastline and broad, uncrowded beaches. Just think of going on your dream safari to the big wildlife parks and then landing at the beaches of Mombasa or Diani.
Or start your safari vacation at the beach and then travel out for daily or multi-day safaris to nearby parks. We also offer flight safaris from the coast – imagine boarding your light aircraft for the short flight to the Masai Mara. You’ll land at an airstrip near the park, where we’ll pick you up in a 4 x 4 Land Cruiser Jeep. After two or three days in the park, we’ll whisk you back to the beach. Now that’s another kind of African safari!
Africa is Closer Than You Think
No matter where you are in Europe, Asia, Australia, or North America, dozens of flights will connect you to our capital of Nairobi.
And we offer another large international airport in Mombasa, right on the coast. With plenty of flights between it and Nairobi, plus the many airstrips near all the big parks, Africa Kenya Safaris can make that far-off, far-away dream an immediate reality.
Just contact us and we’ll take you to our timeless safari-land… as quickly as you like.?
