How do I decide between ready mix concrete and a site mix?

SD Conmix has a sound knowledge to manufacture ready mix concrete using state-of-the-art technology in the industry. High-quality systems are in place to ensure that right from the raw materials, the standards are maintained. According to the set specifications provided by the customer, ready mix concrete (RMC) is manufactured in a batch plant. Trucks, specially designed to carry these concrete in unhardened state, take it to the worksite. Site-mixed concrete, on the other hand is prepared at site. Following indices of ready mix concrete and site mix concrete will help you to decide which of these two suits you.

Time

Space

Labour

Waste

Quality

Batch-size

With RMC, you save on time as site-mixed concrete by virtue of its preparation at site takes a longer time.

Raw materials like, cement, sand, aggregates etc should be stored at controlled space, when the mixing is done at site, unlike RMC where no additional space is demanded since it’s delivered to the place of work.

Batching plants like SD Conmix, use highly advanced technology that automate the production process. Therefore, there is less manpower requirement for Ready-mix concrete. Usually, only skilled human resources are required to pour and compact the concrete to Trucks. When mixed onsite, both skilled and unskilled laborers are unavoidable for shifting the raw materials, mixing the mortar and then laying it.

Batching, done at plants is automated (which reduces the likelihood of human error). It is produced in a controlled environment as specified by the customer. Material waste is minimal due to efficient processes and workflows. When concrete is mixed at the site, some material loss is inevitable during mixing and storage.

Because of automation, consistent quality of each batch is a possibility in RMC, which is an uphill task in onsite mixtures and often requires supervision. Moreover, with onsite mixtures, there could be variations among batches.

Any quantity, large or small could be delivered to sites in case of ready mix whereas mixing large quantity at sites poses difficulty and time consuming.?

Ready-mix concrete, has various benefits over site-mixed concrete. That, however, does not mean that it is the better choice for every project. When deciding whether you should use site-mixed or ready-mix concrete, consider every factor at play described above, including project size and transportation requirements.?
