When we want to view and/or edit PDF files, two popular software come in mind i.e. Acrobat Reader and Adobe Reader. While both share a similar name and function, they have distinct differences in terms of features, functionality and purpose.
Adobe Reader, also known as Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, is a free PDF viewer and printer developed by Adobe Systems. It allows you to view, print PDF files. You can also add comments, highlight text and fill forms.
Adobe Reader is essentially the same as Acrobat Reader, offering the same features and functionality. The main difference is that Adobe Reader is part of the Adobe Acrobat family of products which includes Acrobat Standard and Acrobat Pro. Adobe Reader is often bundled with other Adobe software such as Adobe Creative Cloud.
Adobe Acrobat, on the other hand, is more advanced and paid software that includes Acrobat Reader's features and much more. With Adobe Acrobat, you can create, edit, convert and secure PDF files. It offers tools for adding and editing text, images and other content as well as converting PDFs to other file formats like Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.
In summary, Adobe Reader is great for viewing and basic interactions with PDFs while Adobe Acrobat provides a comprehensive set of tools for more advanced PDF management and editing.
