What 18kg Taught Me About Pursuing My Dreams
One of the questions I often got from clients and friends is:?
How do you figure out what to do when you want to change your life?
Honestly, I don’t have all the answers right away. But looking back, it all started with a shift in one part of my Wheel of Life—my health.
At the beginning of 2022, I weighed 75 kg and really wanted to lose weight and improve my diet, but nothing seemed to work. In fact, I’ve had that intention since the start of 2017, right after my daughter was born, but I never seemed to get anywhere.
Everything changed when I joined Collectius in September 2022. The team has this amazing culture where all the C-level members hit the gym together at 8 AM every Friday morning. That was a total game changer for me! I was really inspired by Sarah, who lost 29 kg in just one year. Seeing the possibilities in people right next to me made a huge difference. https://lnkd.in/gNHk4DY9
Within just three months, I lost 8kg! It felt like a miracle because for so long, I was stuck—losing 2kg, then gaining 3kg, or just staying stagnant. I honestly didn’t think I could ever weigh under 70kg, especially after the past 10+ years and during COVID. Working from home while managing two kids for three years definitely didn’t help. I had developed a habit of stress eating, and my exercise routine was so mediocre that it didn’t seem to make any difference.
When I finally saw the scale read 67kg at the beginning of 2023, I felt more empowered and liberated than ever. It was the first time I felt like I was really taking control of my health. I kept learning about nutrition and diet, improving my habits, and focusing on moderate exercise—with a big emphasis on weights and stretching. By the end of 2023, I successfully returned to my middle school weight of 57kg! https://lnkd.in/gJggbktu
As I continued on this journey, I started feeling more energetic and less fixated on the number of kilograms. I gained a new confidence in myself and my ability to create the life I truly want.

With my body transforming, I felt empowered to make gradual changes to chase my dream of starting my own business and helping people through coaching and personal development. I now spend a lot of my time on Zoom, creating a space for listening and reflection. I challenge my clients' limiting beliefs, highlight their inner strengths, and help them build new habits toward the careers and lives they desire.
I’ve basically redefined my job description to focus on my talents and passions. Most importantly, I've reconnected with that part of me that used to scream, “I am stuck!!” inside.
I’m really grateful for how my wheel of life has shifted—moving from focusing on health to making strides in my career and relationships. Honestly, it’s been a bit scary and super uncomfortable at times, especially while trying to move the needle forward. But every step has been worth it!
