What is a 1-2-1 Meeting?

What is a 1-2-1 Meeting?

The world is shrinking thanks to the Internet. You can now meet face to face with nearly anyone around the world, in a split second. This has changed business and marketing forever.

But, how do you get the right people into a video call? Why would a stranger want to meet with you when we are all so busy?

Here are some simple strategies of how to approach a prospect, lead, or even just a new connection to schedule a face-to-face meet up to nurture relationships and grow your business

How to Invite a Prospect to a Zoom Call?

It all starts with personal messaging. Remember, never spam anyone. It's just bad practice. Instead, open a conversation and lead the person on the other end of the chat toward the next step. This can be done through cold calling or via direct message on platforms like LinkedIn.

Ask good, very specific kinds of questions that you already know you’re going to be asking when you get on the phone. They’re not closing questions.?

They’re pre-sales conversation questions. It’s not asking for them to purchase or click on a payment link, it’s next-step questions. “Would you like to meet for coffee?” Or “I’ll be connecting with some associates, would you like to join us? Or would you like to meet one-on-one over lunch?”

?How to Schedule a 1-2-1 Sales Meeting

You really just want to give two time and date options for the next steps. If they’re not interested in those two options, they’ll let you know. You don’t need to give them five different options.

When you’re on a phone call, you want to call for the next step. It’s very difficult to make a living selling over the phone. You want to get into a video chat or a one-on-one conversation because that’s when the sales process begins.

What is a Sales Call?

Let’s make it really clear that marketing leads us to the valuable conversation that gives you the right to ask for a sale eventually. Marketing moments are not the same as a sales or decision meeting; they can work in tandem.?

However, you start with a marketing system. You build the trust; you make the connections. Make sure they’re familiar with what you’re doing, who you are, why you’re doing it, and how it can benefit them.? Then the sales process becomes super short and sweet.?

How to Get More Leads Easily

If your marketing is not producing prospects or leads, it’s not a good system. If you’re saying, “Oh, we just put this billboard out there so we could have some branding,” and you’re not actually seeing trackable results from whatever it is, that’s a problem...?

“Well, we put this television ad out there. We were on the radio doing this and you know, we didn’t see anything come from it but you know, God bless America, we got some exposure out of it.”?

How Do I Know if Marketing is Working?

I’m sorry, but in today’s world, you have to track your results. You can have maybe a small percentage of your marketing budget go to just general awareness and general branding, but for a small business, which is where our wheelhouse is, you have to track your results.??

You need to invest strategically in a way that will get you the highest ROI.

A good marketing funnel = prospects and leads.

For marketing, you have to inform people of what you’re doing, but don’t spend too much time on this. You have to quickly move to the second part of your marketing funnel, which is engaging.

This is where life gets exciting in the marketing world when you’re engaging in a dialogue with your potential customer or a client. We just went over the seven nurturing touches, and that’s what engaging is.

You’re connecting and having conversations back and forth. There are seven key steps in the process of engaging a client or prospect.? So nurturing, while it is noted as the fourth chapter of the Giver Marketing Blueprint, is actually a step and mindset that should be woven amongst the other three elements of marketing.?

How many conversations does a salesperson have with a buyer?

I don’t think we have a problem as companies, coaches, consultants, and sales professionals in actually informing people of what we do.

We do have a problem, at least in our culture, with engaging properly without having random noise. We have a hang-up in the art of dialogue. Are we listening appropriately? Are we asking good questions??That is real communication.

What Makes Good Marketing?

Following engagement in any marketing funnel is the call to action. People are screaming on the other end of marketing and promotion efforts, “Give me an easy next step. I’m sold, I wanna know how to go to the next step and find out more. Your marketing has done a great job in communicating and dialoguing with me and I just want to know what the next step is.” Easy next steps. Call to action. Give at most, two choices.

I have trouble with this sometimes because I enjoy the conversation so much that I forget to give a strong call to action. This is partly due to some of my background of being a pastor. So knowing my developing strength, I draw other people around me to help.?

What is the Best Sales Funnel?

Let’s move to the sales funnel for just a second. Let’s just assume you’ve gotten everybody through this marketing funnel. They’re now a lead, a prospect, a potential client, or a customer.

A good sales funnel produces transactions and revenue. Keep in mind the difference between this and what a marketing funnel is to produce: leads, prospects, and conversations.

It’s super simple, but sometimes we confuse these two and we start selling before we’ve even built the trust on the marketing end. Admittedly, there’s a grey area here.

In the Giver Marketing Network, we think of marketing as a pre-sales conversation. That’s just how we look at it. So I’m not saying one is better than the other, they need to work together in order to produce transactions.?
