WGIC is pleased to announce its inaugural event, Horizons 2025, scheduled for April 27-29, 2025, at the Denver Art Museum in beautiful Denver, Colorado, USA. This new geospatial event is a unique opportunity to attend a “for the industry, by the industry” gathering focused on "Moving Beyond Boundaries."? Horizons 2025 promises to be an exploration at the crossroads of geospatial and earth observation technologies and the larger ecosystems present in every company, organization and government. Hosted by our global association, this event will delve into the business opportunities presented by the geospatial industry, shaping the trajectory of Geospatial in Everything, Geospatial for Everyone and our collective sustainable future.?

There is a consensus on the value of geospatial data and its role in enhancing local decision-making processes, says Andy Deacon of the Global Covenant of Mayors (GCoM) in a video interaction and stresses the importance of partnerships in co-designing and co-creating solutions at sub-national level.

With effective stakeholder engagement and responsive governance as their bedrock, these committees ensure WGIC remains relevant, and is actively involved in shaping the policy, creating knowledge, expanding network and advocating for the geospatial industry on a global scale.?

WGIC Executive Director Aaron Addison attended the GEOINT 2024 Symposium in Kissimmee, USA, seeking potential partnerships to enhance geospatial impact and advance WGIC’s key objectives. The Symposium's theme, "GEOINT 2024: Essential in All Dimensions and Domains," highlighted geospatial intelligence's vital role in decision-making amid evolving landscapes. Industry experts, government officials, and thought leaders gathered to examine the latest technologies and applications, underscoring the indispensable role of advancing geospatial capabilities in tackling the issues of today.
WGIC Engages in Discussions at GWF 2024
WGIC participated in the Geospatial World Forum (GWF) held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Our team engaged with both familiar and new faces at GWF 2024 and had fruitful interactions with WGIC members and representatives from various companies, paving the way for promising partnerships and reinforcing existing ones.?
One highlight of our participation was Aaron Addison, the Executive Director of WGIC, serving as a panelist at the Esri Seminar within GWF 2024. He contributed insights into the latest trends and innovations in the geospatial domain, emphasizing the ongoing geospatial transition.
