#WFH - just do it!
When the quarantine measurements of COVID-19 hit this part of the world (we are based in Switzerland), Ola and I quickly decided to put together a guide to accommodate the new virtual and working from home reality. Let us share some insights with you before you go and download this cool tool here:)
1. WHY we created the WFH Guide and Calendar?
Working from home can be a new reality for you. Or you might not be used to doing it every day. To make it easier for you as a leader and your team, the wellbeing.desing and the WeWent teams got together to prepare a 30 day guide with tips and ideas that might inspire you to become more content and efficient in this new reality.
We believe that even when this period is over, the world of work will not be the same again and many new tools and skills will be used. Let us enable you for the new present and future. We aim to support you to build more resilience as this is something that both individuals and organizations need the most for a VUCA world to get ready for the future of work as Josh Bersin mentioned as well.
2. HOW you can make the best use out of the WFH Guide and Calendar?
You can choose how to make the best out of this guide.
Our goal has been to be as holistic as possible in terms of topics and audience. It was a tough decision though as there are so many different:
- Home situations: being alone at home or with a partner or with kid(s)
- Personalities: introverts and extroverts - let me recommend you the very recent article of one of my favorite thought provokers Adam Grant published in the New York Times
- Regulations: Quarantine with some freedom of movement or complete lock-down
At the end we decided to "Just do it" and keep this version simple and generic where everyone can find something that resonates with them.
We invite you to use the same approach of "just do it" and just try some of the exercises and tips without aiming for perfection immediately! Please, consider the following:
- If you are already a WFH "practitioner" having your toolkit and best practices, let just yourself be inspired to expand your horizon. You will certainly find some new insights as well.
- If you are a WFH "newbie", we advise you to pick only 1-3 ideas per week that you would like to try out. It will definitely take longer than 30 days. Allow yourself time, be consistent and patient. Progress step by step. To create new habits, you will have to create new wires in your brain. Get to know more about this by listening to the famous neuroscientist Joe Dispenza.
Exciting times ahead!
3. WHAT is included in the WFH Guide and Calendar?
Each day you find one tip related to one of these focus areas:
- Team engagement
- Physical wellbeing
- Mental wellbeing
- Productivity
- Meetings
- Family
- Tips and tricks
Let us give you an insight into one page of the guide:
You can read more about the detailed content published on our LinkedIn pages WeWent and wellbeing.desing in the last 30 days. Besides our practical advice, some days include links to further readings to provide scientific insights. Pick the ones that you and your team/family need the most.
Your next steps:
What we can tell you is that we are working on a more detailed workbook for this guide. We will reveal this with you very soon.
By now you are ready to download the detailed guide here.
1 CHF of every sale will be donated towards COVID-19 relief.
We are happy to come and support you and your team on this change journey. Along with this guide, we offer a WFH Program for companies including:
- Virtual kick-off session using the calendar
- The WFH guide itself to be distributed for employees
- Weekly group and individual coaching sessions to support employees through the WFH journey
- More in-depth sessions on any of the topics e.g. wellbeing, productivity, etc...
We are looking forward to hearing from you! Please connect with us if you have questions.
It was a team work by the Shaker Team, without Bilge and Isabel's input and support it would not have been possible to publish it so promptly. Thank you!
