MONTEREY, CA — March 27, 2024 — LanguageLine Solutions announced that it planted nearly 23,000 trees across the world in 2023 through its Angela’s Trees initiative. The world leader in language access has already planted 5,858 trees in 2024, putting it ahead of last year’s pace.
Through Angela’s Trees, LanguageLine has planted a total of 47,423 trees since 2022.
The Angela’s Trees programme honors Angela Witmer, LanguageLine’s Director of Business Process Improvement who passed away in January 2022. A lover of the outdoors, Witmer led LanguageLine through the rigorous process of becoming Green Business Certified. Certification indicates that LanguageLine has met and exceeded regulatory requirements to prevent pollution, reduce waste, conserve energy, and save water.
LanguageLine’s effort is aligned with its parent company, Teleperformance, which has joined One Tree Planted in committing to plant 500,000 trees across five world regions. The company’s fundraising efforts have also generated enough donations to plant another 25,000 trees. One Tree Planted’s projects and initiatives continue to rebuild forests, provide jobs for social impact, and restore biodiversity across the globe.
Teleperfomance has other environmental initiatives through its Citizen of the Planet programme, and recently achieved a goal of reducing carbon emissions per employee by more than 49% - four years ahead of schedule.

Through Angela’s Trees, LanguageLine plants a tree for every new interpreter hired. After the project was announced on Earth Day 2022, the company launched Angela’s Trees by planting 3,000 trees in Northern California, where Witmer was born.
“We care deeply about our environment, just as we care deeply for Angela and her legacy,” LanguageLine President and CEO Scott W. Klein said. “It brings us a tremendous amount of fulfillment that we are able to bring those two concerns together through Angela’s Trees."

10 个月Hi I love what you are doing myself and my daughter are planting as many trees as we possibly can in and around Sheffield South Yorkshire UK. I'm just obsessed with the idea of reforestation. We also do it with our local scout group.
