We’ve all heard, attention is the new currency but so many people don’t get it.

If you’re in tech or any business as a matter of fact, and you’re not privileged enough to be connected to people who are at the top, your only way of scaling to get gigs and Jobs outside freelance websites is through content.
The good thing is we have different types of content for everyone, if you can’t make videos, you must learn to write
You cannot be actively seeking gigs or Jobs and when someone visits your Instagram or Twitter it’s just 2-3 pictures of your back or some good looking aesthetics at a tech meetup or hangout.
With nothing on your Bio
Most people go as far as not having one piece of content or image of themselves or what they do, and a profile picture of a random Anime or something else.
See i’ve always been a core introvert that hates putting myself out there, i remember i had someone block me around 2018, because she said i didn’t have pictures of me on my Facebook.
I hated the camera so much, I still don’t do Live, or host talking spaces, because I’m not yet comfortable with that, even though I do pre recorded videos daily now.
but I used to put out written content on facebook that helped me close a few clients then. (i was charging $100 - $150 around this period).
Regardless, I discovered I needed to do more. I've always followed @garyvee since I was in secondary school, it was either him or @GrantCardone, that said. Do you want to make money or do you want to remain an introvert without a brand?

I’m not saying you have to make videos of yourself, but you have to be able to constantly put your business out there in form of content, let’s say for designers, I’ve seen pages where they just show a quick 20 seconds screen recorded walk through of a site that was designed and then the finished product.
I’ve seen tons of pages like that go viral, stop hiding what you do because you want to look mysterious, when you don’t have gigs coming in, you’re not at the top of your industry for you to be emulating some top people.
Social media is deceiving a lot of people, you’re trying to act like someone that has paid their dues and spent 10 years in your industry before you came in.
People say tik tok is useless, i put out content there, it blew up. I’ve had so many companies from the US, UK, and Australia work with me after seeing my work on TIktok.
I’m putting out content on all platforms.
In 2024, decide for yourself that you will put your work out there a lot more and build a personal brand.
This has helped me in some cases if not a lot, social proof is a real thing. I’ve worked with clients in the past, where they ask for a person, and so many people will submit their CVs but people I’ve never worked with will mention my name, because they see my content daily, I will land the gig.
I don’t know how many times I’ve heard “I went through your profile and you seem to know your Onions, so let’s get started”.
