We've all been there.

We've all been there.

I have been seeing posts from employees who did not get their salaries from months and this reminds me of the time when the same happened to me. Yes, there are many companies who are holding employee's salaries for months and when the employee finally leaves, these organizations do not seem to care to take the phone calls even.

I have been in the same situation when I started my career and not just me nearly 10 more members in the team were working for the company for couple of months with salaries half paid. Some of them finally left and some decided to stick with the organization in tough times with a hope that the boss will pay their salaries as he was promising. The boss who knew that he is shutting down his company didn't even bothered to come to office for days and to make the team members know about the real thing and have completely stopped paying the remaining few employees. One day he announced that they cannot continue running the office and everybody should look for jobs and that he cannot pay any due salaries now, he would pay in smaller amounts in the coming months. All the employees were let go, some with new job offers, some without jobs. We tried to contact the person but what he did was to unfriend everyone from social accounts, blocked numbers, didn't respond to emails. Many of us employees and also the housekeeping people lost more than 2 months of our salaries and we have already drained out whatever little savings we had in paying rents and basic expenses.

I was at-least thinking that this person is going through a very bad time financially so okay I can make peace with it but then got to know that he is having vacations with his family. There are employers who are driven with values and there are people like this one too. We get to learn our lessons from all these experiences. I am not trying to prove anything here, just tried to write my own experience and I know many will relate to this.

Thank you.
