The Tenth Anniversary of The Westview Associates
?Ten years ago this week, The Westview Associates, llc became a legal entity.
?As I wrote the Business Plan for the fledgling organization in February of 2012, I wanted The Westview Associates to be different from other search firms. The Westview Associates was not going to a provider of “Three to five resumes by 5 PM the day after the contract is signed”. Quality, versus speed of delivery, would be our goal. We will not be the haphazard provider of Resumes. The Westview Associates will only provide our clients with thoroughly vetted Potential Employees who are documented as having achieved the professional accomplishments that the client requires. ?The presented candidates will possess the intrinsic passion to assimilate into the culture of the hiring company and excel. The Westview Associates helps our clients to hire candidates who will be more productive and longer-tenured. Hiring individuals who will become longer-tenured and more productive employees enhance the Return on Investment (ROI) of our clients’ hiring process.
?As a business, The Westview Associates is designed to grow through referrals from satisfied customers and industry-based opinion leaders who desire those within their professional networks to benefit from the same hiring processes that they experienced from The Westview Associates.
?We have built a repeatable process that;
1)????Thoroughly evaluates the current, future, and operational needs of the hiring organization,
2)????Identifies potential employees, as well as validates that their achievements will allow them to be long-term contributors to our client's goals.
?this client delivery process has been documented, tested, and proven to be successful.

?The name The Westview Advantage came from the lifetime of summers that were spent at our summer home in Wildwood Crest, NJ. The summer day may have been stormy. Daylong wind-driven rain and thick clouds would make it questionable if tomorrow’s planned activities could be held. But, at the end of the day, calm often returned to the sky. Despite the cloud deck overhead still being dense, to the west, the clouds would be thinning.?The beauty of the setting sun assured that tomorrow would bring the calm and order of a better tomorrow. Assurance and order, facilitating the opportunity for effective growth is what I wanted The Westview Associates to provide to our clients. This imagery and message of hope are why The Westview Associates’ logo and so many pictures that are associated with our firm are of sunsets.
?The staffing services that The Westview Associates provides have focused on Senior Most Finance and Accounting Professionals and Staffing Solutions within the Non-Profit Sector. These segments of the economy were chosen from my professional experiences within Accounting and Finance, as well as my understanding of the nuances and needs of non-profit organizations. I have been the CEO, President, Vice-President, and Board Member of several mission-based non-profits.
?The depth of the services that our clients expect from The Westview Associates has forced us to evolve into becoming a provider of Retained and Exclusive Staffing Relationships with our clients.
?To realize The Westview Associates’ growth and operation goals, I chose to initially utilize the path of personalized relationships with clients and their networks. When clients experience the desired outcome of our delivered service, they share their experiences as referrals within their networks. The success of this strategy has allowed me to trace the line of referrals between most of our customers.

?To achieve our growing business goals, the introduction of social media strategies has allowed our marketing message to reach a wider audience.
?Through the application of The Westview Advantage, candidates who become potential employees are predominately identified through referrals from trusted members of our professional network. Targeted candidates are thoroughly vetted through a lengthy documented manner that measures their quantitative and qualitative achievements, as compared to the hiring client’s unique initial and longer-termed needs.?This process includes an evaluation of the candidate’s professional bearing, interpersonal skills, and business acumen.
The professional accomplishments and personal attributes of each presented candidate are validated through a “360 Degree Reference Evaluation”. This structured series of open-ended questions reveal the desirability of the presented candidate to process to enter the interview process.
?The services that The Westview Associates provides to our clients continue from the delivery of each potential employee's Presentation Package of their documented professional and interpersonal attributes, through the candidate evaluation and hiring processes, to the offer/acceptance/onboarding and post-hiring phases. Our continuing services allow The Westview Associates to remain our clients’ Trusted Staffing Resource.
The Ten Years of The Westview Associates’ success cannot have happened without the support and contributions of those who believe in the processes and outcomes that we provide our clients.
?I first must thank our CFO and wife Lynn for her guidance and patience during the many missed dinners while I am at networking events, as well as meeting with clients and candidates.
?Our older son Nelson for keeping me grounded and focused with the constant question of “Why?”.
?Our son Perry, the CNBC News Correspondent has taught me how to write more briefly and clearly.?– I hope that I have followed his advice here.

Ernie Can’t tell you how thrilled I am for you. Most new businesses do not last longer than a few years-at best! You and your team have extraordinary stamina-built on good, old fashioned and old school hard work. It’s all about relationships and the quality of those relationships. You have built thousands over your 10 years in business. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard the phrase-Ernie Russom is helping me! What a great feeling that is-and yet so many hours of giving of yourself-your time-your advice-your endorsement. Not trying to blow smoke at you but there are a ton of lives out there who you have touched-have helped-and that sure allows you to sleep well at night! And no doubt-when you give-you receive.
