The purpose of human life is to serve, and
to show compassion and the will to help others.

In recent months, WestJet has lived-up to its corporate social responsibility by responding effectively to a tragic event, Ft. McMurray, and three requests in support of initiatives for Cuba.
WestJet is the first Canadian airline that released a corporate social responsibility (CSR) report to the Global Reporting Initiative guidelines (CSR 2013 and 2014 Reports).
The most notable socially responsible event that WestJet undertook recently was evacuating people and animals of Fort McMurray. WestJet was also contracted by both Suncor and Shell to fly in and out of two other aerodromes (landing strips) north of Fort McMurray: Suncor’s Firebag and Shell’s Albian facilities. With previous experience flying in to these locations already under their belt and with Shell and Suncor asking them to help evacuate people from their locations, they were among the first airline to bring people out- see Ft. McMurray Evacuation.
WestJet's CEO, Gregg Saretsky, and its employees deserve KUDOS for their service and compassion? towards those impacted by the catastrophic events in Ft. McMurray.
Job well done!
