Western Sydney will benefit by NSW Government projects
NSW will accelerate the assessment of 24 key projects, including six schools and thousands of homes, in a bid to boost the state's economy and create jobs amid the COVID-19 crisis.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the projects have the potential to create almost 9500 jobs during and after construction and inject more than $7.5 billion into the economy.
Among the projects are the Snowy Hydro 2.0 energy storage scheme, the Ivanhoe public housing estate in Ryde, three housing developments in North Sydney and the revitalisation of Bankstown's town centre.
Assessments will also be fast-tracked for new primary schools in Warnervale and Schofields, a Bunnings warehouse at Leppington and the conversion of two heritage buildings into student accommodation in Randwick.
The projects will deliver more than 335,000sqm of public open space and parks and allow more than 4400 new homes to be built, including more than 1000 social and affordable homes.
