We're warm!
Introducing guests to our Mission Control Trailer and our Mosquito helicopter, with a pretty decent backdrop.

We're warm!

Last night we hosted a small(ish) Tower Warming Party to thank people who helped us get to where we are now—which is the former air traffic control tower on the retired naval air station in Alameda, CA. Thanks so much to everyone for coming out to welcome us to our new HQ (and to the Alameda Chamber & Economic Alliance Committee for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony).

It was a pleasure to share the space with you, to be in a building that has a legacy of innovation and resilience, and to become a part of this incredible neighborhood.

Two people cut a large red ribbon in a foyer using giant scissors labeled 'Alameda'? while people clap in the background and confetti fills the air.
There's a first time for everything—this was Daniel and Max's first time cutting a giant ribbon with giant scissors. Thank you so much to the chamber for this ceremony (and to Becca Perata and Madlen Saddik for coaching them through the ribbon-cutting experience). We feel welcome!

Rain's new headquarters as seen from the 'back yard' on the former Naval Air Station in Alameda, CA.
Guests of Rain Industries mingle around a trailer and a small helicopter while the sun nears the horizon over the San Francisco skyline in the background.
Guests braved the bracing cold wind to see the demonstration of the Mission Control Trailer and the Mosquito helicopter, which was used this summer in tests to contain a small, controlled fire with a compressed foam solution (aka soapy water).
People talk in small groups inside a room of faceted windows of an old naval station air traffic control tower, while the sun sets over San Francisco in the background.
The moment everyone is really here for—the sunset from the tower.
sun sets over San Francisco, with a cloudy sky touched by a blush of pink, in the foreground the faceted face of an antique control tower reflects the last of the daylight.
We remain grateful for the space, and for this sunset.

I am thrilled to see Rain celebrating their birth as the transforming force for good. This ribbon cutting ceremony culminates many days of hard work and begins a vision of our world without catastrophic Forrest fires. Thank you Max, Daniel and your entire team for meeting this challenge head on Joe Cohen
