We're Taking Action on our Increasing Energy Costs

Energy and electricity prices are at an all-time high; with our new unit price costing just under 91p kw/h and the standing charge increasing to 945p/day, it brings our bill to a total of ￡300 per month before we turn a light on! It's clear we're not alone in receiving these increasing energy costs; with Octopus Energy boss Greg Jackson describing the high standing energy bills on households as 'egregious' and 'more difficult for hard-pressed customers to save money through efficiency'. We've decided to take action.?

We're installing 206 solar panels across the roof space of our Gateshead Facility. By doing this, we're able to reduce energy costs significantly and soon will be able to sell our unused energy back to the grid.?

However!! In order for us to sell our generated, unused energy, we need to first pay an admin cost of ￡870+VAT and are likely to receive around 5p kw/h when eventually approved on 27/10/2022. Sunny weather and increased solar installations have helped contribute to record high levels of solar energy generation within the EU this summer, with 28 per cent more being generated when compared to the previous year.

The price of energy is only looking to increase and with solar panels falling in cost by 82 per cent over the last decade, we believe solar energy to be a large part of the future of household and business properties.
