Were parents involved in Sexual Crimes of Boys Locker Room?

I would like to congratulate the parents, specially the mothers who successfully made their sons rapists, male chauvinists and sex criminals.
You created an environment teaching your boys that the world belongs to them. Women always in the kitchen and men always watching TV. The ones who occasionally assist in the kitchen still think they need a medal for filling their own stomachs.
- A husband treating his wife the way he likes. May be the kids didn't like it in the beginning but now they are accustomed to it.
- A mother in law, even after being a women, telling her son not to help his wife in dusting because it's a women's job.
- A father over protecting his daughter, may be out of concern and never letting her learn how she can protect herself on her own.
- A mother training her daughter to run all errands and do all chores after school while the son is being offered a glass of water.
- The relatives preaching the kids from the beginning that a family is like heaven only when men bringing in financial support and women cook and care for them.
- The whole family teaching the son they won't get a good bride if they don't study and telling their girls, the in laws won't like it if your chapati isn't round.
We don't realise how these daily habits play a huge role to create these monsters like boys locker room group. Sadly, it does. As long as this keeps on going and family discriminates responsibilities as per gender from the beginning, your kids will watch you, hear you and pick from it. As long as you don't tell your boys that they too have to do dishes and tell your girls they too have to learn how to live independently when you are gone, you are going to just make this place hell day by day.
Think about it, what's the boys locker room group? Pack of kids thinking their mothers and sisters were kept so dominated by the males in their families, this is why they can't handle the women who are raised right by their parents.
Shameful act, I highly discourage such behaviour but blame completely on the parenting of those ignorant families who couldn't showcase right values and pray with all my heart that if any of the readers functioning the same way, it's not too late to change.

4 年Well written. Gender biased parents are unknowingly laying a wrong foundation for their kids.

4 年Well articulated. Social norms have a huge influence on behaviour. I fully believe that each individual still needs to own his actions and cannot fall back on his parents to justify his attitude or behaviour. Having said that, and as a father of two daughters, i believe society needs to bring up kids in a gender agnostic manner. Parents and society must understand that seemingly harmless sentences at a young age can become the seed of more serious behavioural issues later on. Respect for humanity at large, and definitely for girls/women must be imbibed as an essential value early in the formative years. It has to be a conscious behaviour. Thanks for raising this issue.

4 年Well written Guneet Kaur Hayer I agree to your point, in addition I believe the whole society plays an important role in making us who we are... and parents are one important part of it. Example, I have carried a lot of #values from the fiends I have made over the years. The entire ecosystem needs to acknowledge and act on this point... and parents, being our first teachers, must realise their part.
