We're open! Throughout life I've learned plenty of lessons, some of which I wasn't prepared for. This weekend my teacher was our daughter (2 years old). After a big breakfast of her Dad's famous french toast and bacon, she continued to play with her favorite toys. Today, it was her ice cream cart. After dragging it to the other side of the living room, she sat down behind it at her work station and shouted "HELLO!!" She was looking to capture Mom and Dad's attention to announce she was open for business, ready to serve/scoop ice cream. After tears of laughter, Dad approached the cart and continued to request 3 scoops of chocolate ice cream. She only gave two and kept one for herself but we'll let her slide today. The lesson I learned from our toddler is to shout, let the world know that we're open and ready to serve. In the context of our hotel industry during COVID-19, if you remain open and looking to welcome Guests (government, healthcare, homeless, etc) then make sure those entities know. While we should keep our occupancy expectations conservative during this worldwide pandemic, every Guest counts.
