And... we’re LIVE!!!

Each month, I get so excited! I share an Equati newsletter that I thought I would bring to #LinkedIn as well.


As many of you know, less than a year ago, Equati was still just a vision spoken into existence, written on sticky notes, and mapped out on poster board paper—yet, one big vision percolating for nearly four years!

December 2023: A Turning Point

I spent two intense days with my trusted advisors, whiteboarding and strategising three critical questions:

  1. What was possible?
  2. Where to start (building a technology)?
  3. What was the initial outcome I wanted to achieve (and problem to solve)?

This session was an initiation into five rigorous months of designing, aligning, additional research, and refining the initial go-to-market strategy.


Clarity in Creation

In December 2023, I left that strategy session with newfound clarity and began sketching the first visuals for Equati. With these hand-drawn concepts (see below), I collaborated with a designer to create our first prototype. Moving forward quickly, I? crafted workflows, a user experience, and an outcome solution based on comprehensive research.

I'm often asked, why Family Offices? The story is long but the answer is short and complex.??

I have lived and breathed the ripple effects when family businesses, family members and values are left behind. I ran from this world, leading global programs and scaling innovation. Yet the fractures, the unheard voices, and disconnected generations—were ever-present in my life and never far from my mind.?I returned to entrepreneurship, to break the cycle transforming fractured legacies into thriving ones through purpose, values, wealth and innovation through Equati .

Family Office Facts. The Global Impact:

  • The largest intergenerational wealth transfer in history, valued at $84 trillion, is moving from the Baby Boomer and Silent Generations to Generations X, Y, and Z.
  • This shift will impact 15,000 to 20,000 Family Offices globally, with historically fewer than 10% surviving beyond the third generation.
  • Current profound impact: In 2022, Family Offices contributed $162 billion (32.5%) of all capital invested in start-ups.


Why does a solution like Equati, matter?

Generational tensions and communication gaps lead to misunderstandings, missed opportunities, and weakened trust. Bonus: through extensive demos and interviews we've identified five additional use cases; which is exciting - and yet, we stay focused for now!

Most importantly, where we started in December 2023 and where we are today has evolved dramatically; however, the core audience, values, principles, and intentional approach to launching, and scaling this product and business have not. We keep learning, adjusting, and moving forward.
