Our ideal General Manager will have previous hands-on General Manager experience which oversees all daily business operations and achieves planned goals for revenue and profit while maintaining standards for guest satisfaction, employee engagement, quality assurance, and asset protection. The GM is the ambassador for the brand and the property; provides leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of service and safety culture; maximizes operations and guest satisfaction. Works closely with the property owners and other stakeholders. Is responsible for managing the property’s targets to deliver an excellent guest experience, guest satisfaction and profitability. Financial management skills are critical to the success of each of our managers in order to meet goals established for operational expenses and labor cost. Our General Managers are also responsible for building, training, and mentoring a team of employees. All of our General Managers provide attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests prior to arrival and throughout their stay, while maximizing accommodation revenue and occupancy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to a team of people
  • Manage operations and finances of the business
  • Recruit and train new hires on business practices
  • Drive the development of employees
  • Ensure that quality of work or service is maintained
  • Excellent conflict resolution/customer experience skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office
  • Full function of front desk systems and all property support systems and equipment
  • Able to teach, coach and train; motivate staff and measure performance
  • Oversee the operations and functions of the property
  • Demonstrated ability to lead - encourages company core values and has a deep appreciation and joy of working with people.
  • Comfort working with budgets, payroll, revenue and forecasting Strong communications skills
  • Delivers on budget goals and sets other short and long term strategic goals for the property
  • Manages on-going profitability of the property, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
  • Coordinates with the AGM for the execution of all activities and functions as well as the planning and scheduling of groups
  • Oversees and manages all departments and works closely with department supervisors on a daily basis
  • Establishes an environment of trust to ensure honest, open and direct communication; and provides a communication process that works up, down, and across the organization
  • Responds to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved and safety practices are observed
  • Responsible for legal requirements for hiring, Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other mandatory requirements
