We're not Helpless
This is not a sermon, but I will like to take a verse from the Bible to drive home my point."And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." John 8:32. I am speaking as a Nigerian who is a keen observer of the goings on in Nigeria. Every Nigerian knows that we all want a Nigeria where things work better than they do right now. But in that statement is contained a positive step. So things actually work in Nigeria, they just don't work to that level where majority of the people can derive satisfaction majority of the time.
Next, who is to blame for the shortcomings? Oh, anyone, including this writer is quick to point an accusing finger at our leaders, and in particular Buhari. Really? I don't think so. Things have been bad before Muhammadu Buhari came to power. We expected him to just come in and bulldoze Boko out of existence, give free gasoline and make enough cows from his herdsmen available to weekend suya.
We expected so much of our president and because the results we got fell far short of our expectation, we are not labelling him as the devil in disguise. And to make matters worse, we feel he should go but we are convinced he will not go. He doesn't bother about the people who cast the votes, it is the president's men who will count the votes that will hand him the presidency. He has too much money to give to influence the election. Come on people, that's not how democracy works! To make a change, simply vote for the candidate you believe will do the job.Your PVC is very powerful. Don't sell it.
There are some things money cannot buy. Your vote should be at the top of the list.
