We're Growing!

We're Growing!

Stanley's Note:

I'm going for broke!

I really don't know any other way.

It isn't comfortable.

It isn't easy.

It isn't normal.

It's stressful.

It's expensive.

It's risky.

But it is also what has caused our growth over the last 2 years.

We are about to hire 5 more staff in the next 2 months. Next week we have second interviews.

And then hopefully we will make offers the week after.

That'll take us to 12 staff in Auckland and a small team in the Philippines who run the behind the scenes.

Yesterday we got the keys to our new 328m2 office/studio which will be the home of not only our team but also a full service content studio designed to help SMEs make content for themselves and their business without knowing how to.

We make these decisions to hire and sign leases based on my conviction that we have a great product and I know how to sell it.

I'm in this business because I believe in it.

I'm in this business because it really does help others.

I'm in this business because it is a lot of fun.

If it wasn't for these things I wouldn't do it.

I would quit and do something else.

I don't want to whip a lame horse.

Because of my conviction, I back myself to continue to bring in more business to feed the beast and keep the wheels turning.

But I often see a lot of others with businesses who don't quite have this conviction.

And I wonder to myself, is it because they don't have the same conviction, do they not back themselves to deliver the same and/or better results into the future, or do they think the bigger they get the less freedom they will have?

I look at these businesses and think how awesome they are and the potential they have to really build something great.

If only they took the next step.

I dunno, am I the one doing this thing wrong?

Have I got a screw loose?

Is going for broke a stupid way to run a business.

I guess time will tell.

But what I do know, is there isn't a better time in history to scale a business and talk to your audiences.

This newsletter will go out to over 2000 people, land in their inbox and they will see my name.

We started this newsletter in Nov 2020 for free.

Does it get any easier?

What are you doing to get the attention of your audiences?

Last week, on Success Stories, Sian and Shreya caught up with theatre writer, director and producer, Sananda Chatterjee.

She started her journey from a small community theatre called, Prayas and helped turn into a known brand within the performing arts space.

Sananda spoke about her journey of working in the corporate world to being a part of the theatre scene, full time. Sandy, as she is better known, shared some great insights on what it’s like to be an immigrant, working in a niche industry like the performance arts and successfully creating a name for oneself.
