We're Facing a Spaghetti Tangle of Challenges That Need A Forkful of Audacity to Change!
After reading an article today titled The?Audacity of Justice?by Arti Freeman and then a reply from ★Michelle Baldwin , it's clear that we're each going to need a forkful of audacity to untangle the spaghetti of today's complex challenges and opportunities!
Arti wrote about the audacity and the need for philanthropy's willingness to change, to which Michelle replied with this insightful comment saying;
#Philanthropy must work to remove the barriers that prevent people from thriving. The audacity of justice is the courage to reimagine a future where fairness isn’t the exception but the norm—a future where all communities have the power and resources they need to shape their destinies.
The challenge is amplified because while most would agree that together is better, the capacity for getting the community players - government, business, social purpose organizations, and most importantly citizens - to work together to shape their destiny, is a complex challenge.
It's especially hard because business interests too often dominate quality of life.?As Arti Freeman suggests in her article, "Whoever owns the gold makes the rules."

Our grassroots experience shows that a community’s social, economic, and environmental well-being is enhanced with increased trusted relationships and more collaborative, better-informed decisions and actions when people come together as an eco-system or whole community to develop a shared vision, values, priorities, and actions.
The challenge is that even though we might agree we all must work more collaboratively to ensure social, environmental, and economic well-being, the reality is that; when something is deemed to be everyone’s responsibility, it typically becomes no one’s responsibility. When responsibility is diffused among many, it typically leads to overall inaction.
Our work suggests a pressing need for neutral impact catalyst leaders – or what the Skoll Foundation calls ‘system orchestrators.’ In addition to ‘calling the meeting’ to gather as a whole community or neighbourhood, these system orchestrators or sector-connectors also play a role in strengthening the capacity of both formal and informal leaders and organizations to implement the required systemic collaboration and transformative innovation.
So kudos to Michelle, Arti, the?Definity Foundation, and a growing number of others like them who, as Arti suggests, have the 'audacity to reimagine, to challenge, and to change".

3 周Greetings and Blessings from someone deeply appreciative for the contributions of the Campus for Communities of the Future, for having discovered this newsletter, and for The Triangle of Transformation by Rick Smyre, one of the cofounders of Communities of the Future. That chapter from a forthcoming book presents a powerful example of how we may collaborate and facilitate an effective and efficient response to the global spaghetti entanglement. We are beginning to resurrect the website that had previously served as a resource at https://communitiesofthefuture.network. We are helping Rick Smyre reconnect with the international network of colleagues who have been working together in these areas for over 35 years. In addition we are preparing to share the contributions of Communities of the Future and similar organizations with participants in the Evolutionary Leaders Circle, the Holomovement and activities referred to as a Deep and Rapid Transformation Convergence by The Sustainable Development Goals Thought Leaders Synergy Circle https://sdgthoughtleaderscircle.org/deep-and-rapid-transformation/ Love to hear from anyone interested in possible collaboration, thank you. 3 个月agree that getting people to work together is complex, but not impossible. Trust is imperative because underneath we see shared vision and goals although they may not be as evident.
