We're doomed......apparently!

Some people think the eclipse will cause secret planet 'Nibiru' to destroy Earth next month. The Sun, 20th September 2017

?THE end of the world as we know it could be soon if you believe what conspiracy theorists are claiming — as they fear a yet undiscovered planet will collide with Earth on September 23, 2017. It’s true I tell you, it’s true….even Fox News and The Telegraph are reporting it and I heard it in the pub too.

 Not since the Mayan Calendar apocalypse failed to appear 5 years ago has such ‘fake news’ been so heavily reported. According to conspiracy and Christian numeracy theorists (or ‘nutters’ as we scientists prefer to call them), the same fake planet cited by the Mayan Calendar – Nibiru, will pass close by the earth causing Volcanic Eruptions, Tsunamis, earthquakes, pestilence and many branches of John Lewis to close – Apocalypse now indeed!

So how do you prepare for the end of the world?

There is some room for manoeuvre here, as the biblical pointers indicate a date range for the planetary mishap giving us until sometime in October to prepare. One could argue that the ‘collision’ is just a metaphor for the many mini-apocalypses that have occurred this year: The worse hurricane season & floods on record; Donald Trump’s inauguration; Kim Jong Un successfully launching nuclear capable missile and the alarming prospect that John McDonnell could become Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Working on the assumption that you survive these apocalypses, what does the last quarter and 2018 look like for you? Is your marketing strategy suitable for your brand and targets?
