We’re at the Dawn of a New Decade

Earlier this month I was fortunate to host our 3rd annual AT&T Business Summit. As I reflect on all that transpired throughout the program, a few words come to mind… listening, learning, transformation, authenticity and connection top the list.

The inspiration offered up by—and knowledge gained from—speakers like Thomas Friedman, Satya Nadella and Peter Diamandis, MD. shared a common thread. Businesses today are in search of that competitive edge – the next innovation that’s going to set them apart in their respective industries and transform their business. As they listen and learn, they’re seeking to understand how to be better connected, protected and respected now and in the future.

 While the answer is not the same for every business, agility is important today and tomorrow. And that means adopting solutions that harness key technologies – like 5G, edge computing, and IoT, all with cybersecurity intertwined – which can help lead the way for you today and into the future.

 To showcase the power of 5G technology, on main stage I conducted the first ever LIVE hologram interview in the United States over AT&T’s 5G network. EVP and Chief Marketing Officer Mo Katibeh was in-person at AT&T Stadium (19 miles away), while his holographic image was speaking with me on stage. It was truly amazing. Add in the WarnerMedia experiences and offerings from the Innovation Showcase for a truly progressive adventure of what’s available now and on the horizon. I can’t wait to share more on this with you!

Authenticity is a leadership priority for me, and the topic was woven throughout several distinct conversations at Summit. I truly believe that life is all about people, and business is all about relationships. To fully harness the power of relationships, each person must be recognized and valued for their own uniqueness – maximizing the contribution of diversity and inclusion to business outcomes and impact. We must amp up our listening and learning with others; only then will individuals have the opportunity to bring their best and true self to work each and every day, and more fully unleash growth.

 It’s truly an exciting time for businesses all around the country and all around the globe.
