We're building a new Route To Market team

Meet Gordon Treanor, our Licensed Sales Director for Australia and the inaugural member of our new route-to-market team at Suntory Oceania. As we take exciting steps on our journey to become a multi-beverage business, we're thrilled to introduce Gordon, who is leading the creation of a top-tier team to unlock the full potential of Suntory in Oceania. Get to know Gordon, and if you happen to cross paths with him, you might catch him enjoying a V Refresh or a Canadian Club & Dry, depending on the time of day.

If you’re interested in joining the team you can register your interest.

Tell us about your role?

As we transition into Suntory Oceania we will evolve into a leading multi-beverage company boasting over 40 market-leading brands across alcohol and non-alcohol drinks categories.

My roles is to establish the alcohol Route to Market dedicated to executing sales, channel, and customer growth strategies for our brands across the Australian market. We have an unrivalled portfolio of brands available to us including Jim Beam, Canadian Club, Makers Mark, Suntory -196 and the iconic House of Suntory.

Over the coming months I will be assembling a new sales team for licensed channels. We will be looking to attract the very best talent in the industry, and we have already been inundated with interest from outstanding talent from across Australia and overseas. This also presents fantastic career opportunities for our current employees to build new experiences and really make a difference.

What’s your favourite Suntory beverage?

I’m still exploring the portfolio but to date my favourite is V Refresh Citrus Lemonade. The team have done an outstanding job on the Refresh launch. As a regular consumer when it launched, I couldn’t miss this brand as it hit billboards and shelves around the country, and it tastes awesome. From the alcohol portfolio, I love a Makers Mark Old Fashioned, but a CC & Dry is also a go-to!

What are the biggest opportunities attached to your role?

From my perspective, there is huge opportunity as we aim to bring the best of Suntory to our customers and consumers. To do this we need to ensure our strategy is laser focused on category and customer, and building an unrivalled route to market team who can unlock our full potential.

What is something most people may not know about your job?

People may or may not know this, but I am the ‘first’ person hired into our Suntory licensed route to market team. I’m busy working on recruiting the best licensed team in the market and by July 2025 we will have nearly 150 people join the team.

What do you see as the next big trend in your field?

It is hardly new anymore but the emergence of low and no alcohol products is a huge trend today and here to stay! In a world where alternatives are so vital, we are seeing consumers select low and no alcohol products on or during their nights out and other social occasions.

Suntory’s Yatte Minahare spirit encourages us to dream big, what does it mean to you and your work?

Yatte Minahare spirit is at the heart of Suntory and there is no better example of this than what we have set out to achieve in creating Suntory Oceania.

Suntory is a business with strong ambition and bold aspirations – we are on the move! Whilst our growth has been outstanding, there is also a really healthy recognition that there is much that needs be done so we can accelerate that growth into the future to become the leading beverage company in Oceania.

Then there is a big agenda ahead to transform our business whilst also uniting our people behind a shared purpose in Suntory Oceania. That desire to dream big with unwavering commitment gets me excited and sums up the Yatte Minahare spirit.
