Rome, how we love you

Wow, how has a month passed by since our last newsletter... What a whirlwind few weeks it's been. Rachel and I had the most amazing time in Rome making memories and eating way too much pasta and gelato, our first trip away in so long. It was great to recharge the batteries, and we got to go on some special tours even though it was a crazy 42c.

It's amazing how every Italian Uber driver we met seemed to be an ex-F1 driver though, or so they thought! ;) Italians sure love their cars and have some superb driving skills! If you are visiting Rome this year, we highly recommend you taking the time to visit Nannarella's... I saw the restaurant on Trip Advisor before we left and, well let me just say it's worth waiting in the long queue for a table every night! We especially recommend the Rosemary Focaccia, so delicious.

Then... Covid struck

As we came back from our travels, Steve went to Bratislava on business. Unfortunately the day after he returned he became unwell. A day later he was testing positive for Covid, and it spared nobody in our household. Two weeks later and we're all just finally testing negative and getting back to full fitness. Thank goodness we had no complications, we just have a little tiredness to deal with. If you're also unwell right now, we wish you a full and super speedy recovery.

Let's start to think about Industrial Placement season

Yes, we understand it's the beginning of summer and you're probably switching off for a little while. That's totally understandable. However, if you will be applying for industrial placements this year, I can't stress how important it is to begin to prepare EARLY. There is huge competition and if you really want to get that dream placement you need to make sure you're ready to put your application forward. More about this soon as we prepare an article with some important guidance and first-hand advice. Please don't leave preparing yourself until applications open in September, start early and we'll support you step by step as much as we can. Please ask any questions you might have in our Student Support Group.

We had a birthday!

Four years ago this past weekend Formula Careers was born, and what a ride it's been.
