The WEModel USA 2018 initiative is a grass root initiative in which partnered with Onyx Global Solutions to sponsor aspiring models within the U.S. in having an opportunity to go overseas and compete in an international fashion event. However this is the first year in which we have initiated a messaging campaign in which our fashion/model platform will bring awareness to a global issue affecting women and girls.
The express purpose of the WEModel USA campaign is to bring heightened awareness of a troubling and prevalent issue in society today that has infected all parts of the world. Known as a form of modern-day slavery, human sex trafficking affects victims both domestically and internationally, mainly targeting females and children who are enslaved in the commercial sex industry for little or no money. This is a $32 billion annual industry that must be stopped and, according to the United Nations, roughly 2.5 million people around the world are forced into this web of human trafficking at any given time. We are determined to be a part of the solution that will tear down those numbers and end this abuse. In addition to our purposeful mission, this initiative includes an exciting model competition that not only serves to celebrate our models but also to provide each one a significant platform from which their own voices can be heard to cast light on the human traffic awareness campaign that has traveled around the world.
