Wello Works Blends Co-Working & Leisure

By Emilia Morano-Williams

By 2032, it’s estimated that co-working will be a $34.5bn global market, up from $9.2bn in 2022 (Allied Market Research, 2023). To stand out in a saturated market, brands are diversifying their services. Enter Wello Works, a new co-working concept from Australia that pairs shared offices with wellbeing perks, from massage chairs to movement studios.

Wello Works opened its first location in Sydney in March 2024, with an Atlanta location debuting in the US in mid-April 2024. While the main space resembles a conventional office with desks, phone booths and meeting rooms, Wello Works distinguishes itself with a variety of wellness-focused offerings. All co-working members have access to a dedicated wellbeing lounge, which has rooms for meditation and yoga, as well as massage chairs and oxygen booths for a quick pick-me-up. Meanwhile, members with private offices or permanent desks also get access to a wellness app and credits for accessing the on-premises infrared sauna, light therapy chamber and meditation pod.

While we’ve seen wellness and work start to converge in upscale clubs – read The Future Members’ Club – Wello Works’ format is notable for its comparative accessibility. The space looks like a conventional office, and its day passes are priced on par with other co-working venues. As wellness continues to establish itself in company benefits packages, it’s likely that wellness perks could increasingly appear in all manner of workspaces.

These types of benefits could also be influential to lure employees back to offices, whether on a flexible basis (as with Wello Works) or more permanently.
