WellGlossary #4
Not yet heard of welldoing? Well, probably you are not the first thinking so. I am sure you have heard or even have used wrongdoing, though. According to Cambridge Dictionary the term wrongdoing means bad or illegal behaviour.
The term with the opposite meaning such as good doing or welldoing has not yet been used or may not even exist. Given the rather challenging times we are currently living it probably makes sense to come up with the new term and actually use it.
Hospitality, leisure, wellness, spa and recreation businesses just by focusing on their very core business areas de facto can define their activities as welldoing. The impacts of such services, the benefits and sensation they create most certainly contribute to the customers’ wellbeing in a positive way. Hospitality per se means taking care of guests, looking after them. De facto this means welldoing. The wellness industry’s communication and messaging often appear that other fields, businesses may not share capacity or contribution.
This is what we can and need to change. Declaring the very meaning of welldoing is one of the first steps of doing that.?
