Since opening our doors in 2005, we have worked with some of the most admired financial services and technology firms in the region. We have placed talent in a wide range of Front Office and strategic Back of House roles, from senior C-level senior management to more junior level finance investment professionals. Based in Shanghai, you can expect to work in an international, collaborative and close-knit work environment with our teams in Hong Kong, Singapore and Mumbai. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the team’s success from day one, be given opportunities to grow and to learn the financial services industry, key client service skills and human resources functions from working closely with a seasoned regional search team.

This role will focus on all aspects of research and competitor intelligence gathering, support project management and mandate execution, in addition to potentially playing an important supporting role with marketing efforts.

Role / Responsibilities

·       Primarily support your assigned team(s) in all phases of research and intelligence gathering including:

-       Market intelligence / mapping - working with our existing research tools to refresh and update on market movements

-       Org chart development

-       Product development

·       Ad hoc projects as needed by the firmincluding supporting new practice launches, database migration, new corporate initiatives etc.


Requirements

·       Rigorous research, analytic and communication skills (evidenced through academics, extra- curriculum and job experience)

·       Knowledge of the banking / financial services industry is a plus


·       Leadership ability, well-rounded interests with efficiency instincts to balance demands of numerous competing responsibilities

·       Ability to be resourceful and creative

·       Defined interest in or curiosity about either human capital / resources or financial services

 

Internship Program Training Schedule:

Week 1:

1.          Introduction to Wellesley Partners including a general overview of the executive search industry

2.          Introduction to our primary financial services practice areas

3.          Salesforce CRM training

4.          LinkedIn training

 

Week 2:

1.          Detailed dive into assigned practice area

2.          Supplemental introductions to other external research sources

3.          Introduction to proactive intelligence tools / alerts – weekly alerts

 

Month 2 – Week 1 / Week 2:

1.          Project execution training – learn how a project works in cooperation with assigned mentor

2.          CV/Resume Writing Workshop

3.          Interview Training


Work Expectations

General             Business casual; Intern hours: 0930a-1730p

Expenses           We will provide a daily stipend which is designed to cover commuting costs, food requirements and other misc. costs incurred during the work day

Bonus                We will give each intern an end of internship performance-driven bonus based on a semi-formal review process looking at your overall work product during the Internship
