Wellbeing Service Launch Event

On Tuesday 2nd April our Wellbeing Service staff members held a launch event. The event introduced the service locally as it transitions from pilot project to fully established service.

Wellbeing staff explaining the offer to Probation and Commissioners.

The Wellbeing Hub is a trauma-informed support service for People on Probation (PoPs) in various areas of their lives with the intended outcome of increasing their wellbeing. Services include; housing support, mental health support, family & relationship support, HART nurses, parenting courses, social isolation support and domestic abuse support. Referrals come exclusively from the Probation Service and a relationship with the referrer is maintained throughout.

The Wellbeing Service pilot has been a part of the Rochdale Connections Trust offering for around 18 months, in collaboration with Sanctuary Trust and co-ordinated by Big Life. The pilot has been incredibly successful with a significant impact being observed for those who access the service.

The launch event was a great success, held at the Reaching Out Centre on Drake Street, over 30 people from local services, Probation, PoPs and Titch the Dog were in attendance. Feedback from the Probation Service was also on display at the launch;

"The Wellbeing Service is still a fairly new service to Rochdale Probation however I'm not sure what we did without it! The service offers a range of support for PoPs, including drop ins at the ROC, group sessions at ROC, but also .... support on a 1:1 basis. This is extremely beneficial for our PoPs who suffer with anxiety or lack of motivation. Nothing feels too much for the guys at Wellbeing Hub and it is my experience that the staff go above and beyond to tailor the right support or find ways around barriers that may crop up."

The purpose of the event was to show the successes of the project, examples of the work that has already been done, introduce support plans and how the offer will look going forward.

As the Wellbeing Service heads into it's second year and into Summer, further plans for an extended offer including a range of outdoor wellbeing activities are being set into motion.
