Wellbeing practice#5

Why hold the intention to live a healthy, happy meaningful life to 100 years ?

Eastern wisdom of Veda's repeatedly mentions the mantra about 100 years of lifespan of humans - ?????? ?????? ??????????? and the will to live matters, is suggested by the?American Psychological Association. The 3 compelling reasons are:

  1. Self fulfilling prophecy: It has an impact on your wellbeing. We know of people who say that they will live to a certain age and then follow a life style that increases the likelihood of that. That lifestyle can increase your chance of catching a disease. Additionally as you approach your predicted lifespan, you worry a lot too. Imagine if your intention is to live to be 100, you will not panic with a little mole in your body, like when you were in your twenties, points out Dr. Bal Gupta .
  2. Maturity: Most people mature with age and know better than to waste their time on egotistical arguments with family, friends or on social media with strangers. You can spend time in living a happy life and doing things you wanted to do but did not have time in the business of life.
  3. Self-Actualization: Abraham Maslow described the goal of going beyond the Ego and be your best possible self. In the Eastern wisdom the last part of your life is for service, giving back to the world and Self-Realization.

How?

With each passing day the probability of living 100 plus years increases with the new technological and medical breakthroughs. Peter H. Diamandis , Chairman of Singularity University, suggests a "Longevity Mindset" and his co authors of the book Life Force are Dr Robert Hariri, MD, PhD and Tony Robins. So begin with an intention to live long (100 plus), healthy and meaningful life. My group of friends with that intention is expanding. The purpose of this group is to share the beliefs and the practices that are useful to others. Like Grete 96 years young lady who walks briskly for more than 4 miles daily with an infectious smile and is a life long learner and her current focus is Chat GPT Or Dr CR Rao (102 years young)?professor emeritus?at?Pennsylvania State University?and Research Professor at the?University at Buffalo. In 2023, Rao was awarded the?International Prize in Statistics,[7]?an award often touted as the "statistics’ equivalent of the Nobel Prize". So hang out with like minded people by joining this group: 100 plus Happy,Healthy and with Purpose

Thanks to some of my friends who have inspired me Kanwal Rekhi for his fixation on longevity and MaryEdmunds for her spirit of learning new ideas.
