Here’s exactly how i’d advocate for more event budget

If your 2024 event marketing plans are still in-the-works and you’re advocating for more budget for the second half of the year from your CMO, here’s how I’d create the pitch if I were in your shoes:

  • Look at how much revenue events influenced in the first half of 2024
  • Document what worked best and build your strategy based on that
  • Create “Good,” “Better,” and “Best” plans of what you’d like to do
  • Estimate how much it would cost to execute each of those options
  • Show how you’d align with the sales and AM teams to execute these events
  • Present your final request for budget

Skip to “Present your final request for budget,” and your CMO is only getting a sliver of the rationale behind that dollar amount.
