Well, that was a (magnificent) first!

I participated in a hackathon this week. My first ever, and it was amazing. It had some of my favourite things (collaboration, growth, creativity, people), and one of my least favourite (3:30 AM start time).

The early start didn't dampen my spirits even a tiny little bit.

I don't code. But to my surprise and delight, neither did most of the people there. We were mostly a bunch of curious people who wanted to make something that we thought could contribute some joy, some ease or some function. That did put some extra pressure on those who had invested their time in these coding skills, but it was amazing to watch.

Those who didn't code also contributed more than just noise. They contributed to research, collaboration, encouragement, testing and design. It was a microcosm of what can be done with diverse ideas, talents and ways of thinking.

I found it a great example of what can be achieved when we focus on what is possible, more than what is not.

I am sure that organizing this, and hosting virtually was no small feat... much thanks goes to the organizers and all those that participated. <3
