Well, here it is – it finally got me. And I'm angry.

Well, here it is – It finally got me. And I'm angry. At myself, at karma, at the healthy little bird chirping outside my window because he can fly free and I can't. (OK: I'm just jealous!)

I did everything they told me to, I followed all the rules and voluntary suggestions, ... I locked myself in and down and out of so much of life for two years ... and now THIS.?

I want to yell at anti-vaxxers and covid-deniers "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT", but my voice is gone - stolen by vicious coughing fits. It is late, I am tired, but I ache all over and still cannot sleep at night, the coughs rip through my body and explode in my head like lightning in a thunderstorm.

I somehow feel cheated out of all those months where those anti-vaxxers and covid-deniers went back to normal life and I kept to the rules: wearing my mask when in crowds or in public transport, washing my hands meticulously. I feel like they're now standing there, laughing at me for taking all of those precautions when "sooner or later, it's gonna get you anyway."

But I am also sad. Sad for the millions who have died while those vaccinations weren't ready yet. And thankful. Thankful that those shots that are now leaving me with "only" the equivalent of a nasty bronchitis whilst keeping me out of a coffin.
