“Well Educated” OR “Well Trained”???

THE CONTEXT

Back in the 80s and the 90s knowledge was available to everyone, however acquiring it required efforts, time and pain, therefore there was always a value attached in getting to know something. ?The knowledge they devoured was available in the form of Books, letters and even newspaper.

In today's World due to the technology and advancement, the knowledge now is just a click away. You can browse and learn all you want in YouTube, Google, and many other such places. The fact though is the specialist in any given subject are just too busy to write or create content for others to be enlightened, and the ones who are mostly doing it, are not an expert on any given subject except content creating capabilities, therefore the value and authenticity of such a content must be questioned.

THE ISSUE

I am deeply concerned that all this information that we have in this age has made us 'half smart', wait, what does that mean?, let me tell you for starters, the being 'half smart' is more dangerous than no knowledge at all. Look at our sources that we use to educate ourselves; they are mostly half researched blogs or videos, created or written to achieve their main agenda become viral for monetary benefits and fame.

So based on the weak and mostly unreliable, emotional, dramatic, and mostly one sided content that we absorb on a daily basis, the question here must be asked, am I really living my own life? Or, am I just a Puppet? Of those who are trying to shape the World according to their Ideologies and thinking.

ROOT CAUSE

When an Author writes a book, both fiction and non-fiction, he has to indulge himself in a thorough research on the subject for months and sometimes years before finalizing the draft. The publishers would usually then get this final draft verified by fact checker to confirm and check everything that is mentioned in it for its authenticity, but why is that?

?It is to protect the sacredness of the Books and the materials that are publish under their banner. People are not idiots, even when we decide to be sometimes. Publishers know these things, therefore traditionally speaking, a good care and effort is undertaken to ensure authenticity of any material that is publicly published.

On the contrary the quick articles and internet content mostly available on Blog sites and YouTube videos are mostly under researched or not researched at all. If you thrive on such content in serious business, then we are doomed for sure. I am not saying we must not read or watch them, but we need to be extra careful with the source and its authenticity. We must learn to carefully evaluate all that we see and read.

SOLUTION

The one thing that plays the vital role is your logical mind, especially when you are educating yourselves by reading Books and Genuine materials. It helps us in better understanding the content that we are absorbing, the author’s perspective, and context, judging the adequate amount of fairness he or she has used in terms of presenting the facts.

Let’s use that Logical mind of ours and understand this, the population of the World doesn't consist of one person, it consists of people and lots of them, therefore take time to consider the generic opinion of the World, that is the known history and understanding of things, and always practice matching what you are studying with the fact and reality of this World both past and present.

EXAMPLE

Let’s look at this with an example, let’s assume that I am writing a Book and I mention in my Book that “I fulfilled my dream of travelling in India in 2022”, “which was during the time when Narendra Modiji was a PM of India and Sonia Gandhiji was a Home Minister of India”, now we all know that in all levels that’s not possible and not true, right, however what about someone who is reading my book few hundred years later in the ‘Year 2250’, if the person doesn’t verify what I wrote, than the person will be mislead, however if the person verifies the information with other documents and books which speaks about the current affairs in ‘2022’, such a person will definitely end up with the most accurate conclusion, right?

CONCLUSION

All the progressive countries and people who have achieved success have followed and are still following the same pattern and style of educating themselves and their people, and the result of such a practice will always be good growth in your life and eventually it will reflect in our societies.

Respect is never purchased; it is earned one of the way to earn respect in the World is through our behavior which also has the ability to eventually influence our societies and social structure. One step at a time, take the time to do your study and educate yourself genuinely and let it show in your behavior, I believe we will get there soon, cause I believe in us.

If you still choose not to verify, than you are probably already polarized or influenced by an idea or a certain type of thought process that wants that written material you are reading to be true, and you do not go anywhere else to verify what you've learned before accepting it as a fact.

It's the difference between being spoon fed and eating by your own hands, In lay mans terms, you are living a life that is designed by someone else for you, like a puppet, and you are not really making your own decisions?, it's a important thing to understand, and its directly related to the quality of your life. It's the difference between Animals and Humans, or should I say, difference of 'Well Trained' and 'Well Educated' and people usually call their pet animals ‘well trained’.
