Well, that could have been worse!

Several years ago a comedian recounted his famous line..."well, that could have been worse!"?The story goes about a nervous?banker that was pacing the floor in anticipation of meeting with his farmer client.??

?When they started to review the previous year, the banker breathlessly recounted the numbers, "You lost $50,000 in your hog operation!

?The Farmer softly said, "Well that could have been worse"

?The banker said "It was worse, you lost $75,000 in your cash crop operation!"

"My" said the farmer, "that could have been worse"

?Furious, the banker yelled, "it was worse, you lost $200,000 in your entire business!? What could possible?be worse?"

?Without emotion, the farmer simply stated...."It could have been my money".

?That is probably not funny to bankers or anyone else that is owed money, but it is a great reminder?of perspective.?How we view things often can determine how we deal with the stress and the situation.?I am not advocating a cavalier attitude, but pausing and thinking about the possibilities and being creative in finding the way forward can give you an uncommon sense of hope and a head start on making something positive out of a difficult situation.

?I have been blessed to find my self on the other end of that saying..."that could have been worse."??Remember, we are responsible for our attitudes and the future is fueled by our past and the perspectives we see when the world does what the world does....That could have been worse, but how can we make it better right now!???
