The Well - Community for Women

Every month at Ardent Mentoring we do a Mentee of the Month and for the Month of August, we chose Kara Lee who has been a mentee of ours for the past 9 months! Kara is the Founder & CEO of The Well - Community for Women . The Well is based in the community of La Mesa in San Diego, CA and is in the works of securing a second location in North Park. The Well is a co-working space for women where they can go to work, chase their dreams - all while their children are safe, learning, and having so much fun.

One of the surprising statistics is that 64% of stay at home mom's that want to work but don't want to put their kids in daycare. What they've created at The Well is an affordable all in one spot that provides a community of women and an incredible learning center for kids.

As a non-profit organization, they've partnered with 11 other non-profit organizations that are committed to bring women and children out of domestic violence, trafficking, crisis pregnancy, and more. The Well raises funds to keep their costs low and provide scholarships for women in need. One partnership in particular is Rescue America and GRACE (Girls Rising Above Child Exploitation) where the Well will become an “outreach hub”. This will be a monthly call center reaching out to girls who are currently being trafficked and giving them options to get out of their situation and into safe housing and a fresh start
