Welcoming Dan Foley to the London & South East Sales Team!
United Orthopedic UK
Leading international designer, manufacturer & distributor of regulatory compliant orthopaedic implant solutions.
Meet?Dan Foley, our newly appointed Sales Agent for London and the South East region. Discover more about Dan in our Q&A session, and join us in extending a warm welcome to Dan as he embarks on this exciting new journey with United Orthopedic UK!
Tell us more about your background.
Previously I worked for Hospital Innovations, the UK’s largest privately owned tissue bank, and is also the sole supplier of Innomed. Allograft has so many different indications which meant I have seen procedures in every orthopaedic discipline including large hip and knee revision procedures. Before that, I worked as a Farrier for over 11 years. For those who don’t know what a Farrier is, it is somebody who trims and puts shoes on horse's feet (in its most simple format). I believe Farriery has given me an excellent foundation of skills that I have been able to leverage within the orthopaedic world. I was fortunate enough to work with world-class racehorses, show jumpers, and the leading equine veterinarian practices. I have numerous family members who also work within the world of healthcare which means we can bounce ideas off of each other. I believe healthcare is a really exciting industry to work within.
What is your role within the company?
My current role is to look after existing clients in London & South East and to develop the business with new clients. This is an incredibly exciting time and opportunity.
Are there any particular innovations within the United Orthopedic product family that have excited you and why?
I am particularly excited by the U-Star II revision portfolio. United Orthopedic UK already has a lot of traction within this area, and I feel it’s only going to get stronger. I believe the system addresses many clinical issues that perhaps some of the older systems available on the market don’t.
What would you like to learn, either in your professional career or in your personal life??
I’d like to learn to speak another language. It certainly wasn’t a strong point of mine at school, and I also didn’t realise how valuable it would be now. I’d love to be able to say I was bilingual. I can order one beer in French though, does that count?

What motivates you?
My Family is a big motivator for me. Not only do I wish to provide a safe and fun environment for my children, but I also believe it’s good to show them a good work ethic. I am hugely motivated by providing the best products to ensure the end recipient can live a happy and more comfortable life.
One of our core values is happiness, a key element to achieving successful healthcare outcomes. What activity or hobby makes you feel happy?
I love to ski in the winter and also enjoy playing football and golf. I’m looking forward to going off on adventures once my three boys are a little bit older. I also don’t think you can beat a bit of Netflix and chill at the end of the day with my wife (if all of our children are asleep).
Do you have any predictions for the future of the orthopaedic market?
I am personally looking forward to seeing what is going to happen to the robotic market, now more and more studies are being released. Will we see an increase in robotics or will it plateau? I think AI is really exciting and we will continue to see innovations within that market. I’m personally extremely excited to partner with United Orthopedic UK and I’m looking forward to being a part of its growth in 2024.
I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
