Carers Week
This week is #CarersWeek (10-16 June), and we're using the week as a chance to highlight some of the great work employers are doing to support their employees with caring responsibilities.
It is estimated that 1 in 7 in the workforce are carers of someone elderly, disabled or seriously ill. It’s vital to provide support to your employees with these types of caring responsibilities in order to retain them in your business and ensure their engagement, productivity, and wellbeing.
In the Working Families online shop you'll find a brand new free download focused on self-identification along with a download of best practice ideas for carers.
We are also excited to have a guest article from Guardian columnist, researcher, author and former carer, Emily Kenway - It's time to claim power for carers - and we have just launched a new blog series, "Caring Aloud" starting with Margaret and Iwan's story.
Did you know that Working Families also offers policy reviews? Now is the perfect time to go through your carers policy with one of our experts, or why not book one of our lunch and learns?
Best Practice Awards
We've recently announced the shortlist for our annual Best Practice Awards. Now in their fifteenth year, Working Families’ Best Practice Awards showcase and celebrate employers who are offering flexibility for all their people and going above and beyond in their support for parents and carers.???
Take a look at who made the shortlist. The winners will be announced on 26 June.
