Hello friends and welcome to Wiser! on Linkedin.

It's taken me a year to get Linkedin to give me the ability to create newsletters. I hope it's been worth the wait!

For those of you who don't know....I started a newsletter at the start of 2021. It's called Wiser! and it's about the Tech Economy. It is a product of the pandemic. Like most of you, I had an abundance of time on my hands during lockdown and a need to do something creative.

At the same time, my daughter was making a real success out of turning her business online because of Covid. I was inspired by her. It also gave me a way of connecting to my daughter, who was living in the UK, because travel was prohibited for me living in Spain.

The other significant trend that happened was working from home. This changed the attitudes of many people towards work. Why be a wage slave? Spend hours a day commuting? Why make profit for others from their efforts? Live in an expensive city when you could live by the beach? (which I can highly recommend by the way!)

The point is that all these things came together and bingo, I started writing again, built a website to organise my content and started building a newsletter business.

Now, thanks to Kirsten ?? in the Linkedin support team, I can share my opinions, perspectives and insights with the 101,845 people who follow me here on Linkedin.

What I really want to do is use this Linkedin newsletter to feed into my external website. I still have to figure out how to do that because they only turned it on yesterday. And frankly, I've just written this first issue straight off the bat to get the thing going. I've no idea what is about to happen when I hit publish!
