Welcome to the Winter Edition of PSD's International Hotels InFocus

This 'winter' edition of PSD Hospitality InFocus is I believe a real treat - we have a selection of extremely high quality individuals who have generously shared some fascinating perspectives on their businesses and regions. 

Rudi Jagersbacher - recently awarded Middle East Hotelier Power 50 for the 3rd consecutive year details some of the behavioural shifts associated with Hilton's rapid expansion in the hotel mid-market in the Middle East;  Frederic Simon - the inspirational CEO Asia for Commune Hotels and Resorts (formerly Alila) provides a fascinating backdrop to the merger of these two businesses and their multiple lifestyle brands  - plus two General Managers - Henk Meynecht of the Grand Kempinski Shanghai and Shangri-La Taipei's Marcel Holman share a city update which suggests a positive outlook for China and Taiwan in 2016.  Our regular columnist, Derek Picot rounds off this edition with a more light-hearted but very informative piece on the subject of tipping!  I am very grateful indeed to all our contributors.  It would be excellent to receive your feedback on the articles you enjoy reading most so we can reflect this in future editions.
