Welcome to the Week... What I Found this Quarter on my “Insights Hunt”

With this weekend being Easter, as well as the end of a quarter, I thought I would share my 3 favorite lessons I found throughout the quarter on my continual “hunt” for new and improved ideas to elevate business and life.
#1) The 1-3-1 Concept from Dan Martell :?This has been my absolute favorite from the quarter. You have to see the Instagram video he has on the topic, which I have shared below. This applies for anyone who is a member of a team or has members on their team. Come up with your 1-3-1 before you start asking for help from a “rescuer.”?
The 1-3-1 focusses on first determining the real problem.?
This straightforward formula has been a game-changer for me. I am not trying to solve every issue or be the hero! My goal is for our team to solve problems and be the hero; to come up with ideas since they are where the work actually gets done!?
Stop pushing the problem to other people. Ownership in values is about knowing what you are accountable for and putting forth thoughtful solutions on how to get there.?
#2) Charlie Munger's Inverse Thinking:?When planning, the late Munger advises us to consider what could go wrong and then do the exact opposite. This inverse approach is a powerful tool for preempting challenges and navigating our path with foresight.?
A good example of this… How can I gain a ton of weight and be unhealthy??
I am quite confident that this approach will cause me to gain a ton of weight, wreck my blood pressure, change my cholesterol and put me into a state of pre-diabetes… So, I do the opposite!

What do you approach when you are looking for solutions? If you are stuck, start doing the opposite and see if that creates new thinking.
#3) Culture and Competency by Mark Cuban Companies :?From a masterclass with Cuban, the twin pillars of success are highlighted: Culture and Competency.?
At Fitlife Foods, our values – Winning, Ownership, Curiosity, Gratitude, and Purpose – are non-negotiables. In addition to being aligned to the values, as EOS Worldwide suggests, one must "Want It", "Get It", and have the "Capacity" for their role. Cuban reiterates that failing in either culture fit or competency can be detrimental and not just to the person, but all the people that product or action impacts.
When someone nails it or misses in either of these areas, you know it. We use the people analyzer from EOS to ensure we are continually aligned.
These lessons have been pivotal in shaping my perspective. As you get ready to tackle the 2nd quarter, take a look at these insights to elevate your performance and personal growth and be on the lookout as you jump into this quarter for great learnings that can help you elevate your game.?
Keep a notes file on your phone and consider your top 3 learnings from books, podcasts, articles and other media you consume to elevate your game. I would love to hear what you come up with. Email me at [email protected] to share your perspectives.
Get out there and go feed your journey,
David

11 个月Love the insight and the 1-3-1. It forces you to hold yourself accountable as you work through the problem. This way you actually learn from the help you ask for.
