You might think cybercrime is a big city problem, something that only happens to huge corporations with deep pockets. Wrong! Small businesses are a goldmine for cybercriminals. Why? Phishing is the most common way cybercriminals target small businesses. It's like digital trick-or-treating, where hackers dress up as someone you trust (like your bank or a supplier) and try to scare you into giving up your logins or money. Think about it, how often do you get emails about urgent payments or password resets?
Social engineering is another sneaky tactic. It's when hackers manipulate people to divulge confidential information. Imagine a caller pretending to be from your IT department or your managed service provider (MSP), asking for your password to "fix a problem." Scary, right?
So, what can you do?
First, be suspicious. (Zero Trust) If something seems off, it probably is.

Third, Prevention is cheaper then cure! A little effort and time spent on training now can save you a lot of heartache (and money) later.
And finally, Stronger together. When everyone in your organisation understands the importance of cybersecurity, it fosters a culture of vigilance and responsibility. This shared awareness creates a stronger defence against evolving threats.
