Defra opens consultation on draft EPR regulations
Defra call on industry for response to draft EPR regulations.
Just after announcing a delay for waste management fees, Defra have launched a consultation on their draft EPR regulations.?Since the announcement of the scheme, the UK government have been working on developing draft regulations which would implement these changes.
After feedback from industries, the draft regulations will be in conjunction with co-design workshops with stakeholders to address more technical areas of the draft. You can respond to the draft via email, website or post and any submissions need to be with Defra by October 9th, 2023.
The draft regulations cover everything from recycling targets for producers and the requirement for clear labelling of recycling instructions for packaging waste. They've also provided a clearer definition of household packaging following concerns from producers.

This could be anything from tankering and drainage work, machinery servicing for balers, compactors, or just simple skip and bin empties. This avoids any hiccups or unwanted charges down the line by keeping on top of the services and equipment you may have."
