Welcome to Test and Run

Welcome to Test and Run

Welcome to our first of many Test and Run facilities operated by the We Are Just the Best Healthcare System.

Are you tired of having to wait in the ER for hours on end just find out whether you have Strep or a sprain instead of a fracture? Also, how about those ridiculously expensive ER visit fees to see a doctor to tell you that, yes, it is only a "twisted ankle", not a fracture, and that you should ice it, elevate it and take an over the counter anti-inflammatory, which, of course, you knew because you Googled it on your iPhone on the way the ER the last time this happened.

Curbside pickup service has exploded in other industries so why not sickcare?

Here's what we are offering:

  1. A price list for tests and images. We will match the lowest price you can find, just like Best Buy.
  2. An ER concierge (the person with the yellow vest with our WASP logo on it) will meet you to determine your needs and whether you are eligible for the program and is available on our mobile app to set the expectations before you come. That way, you won't confuse the rabbi with the resident. Here is the color coded guide to patient care. Of course, we will be using state of the art artificial intelligence algorithms to determine your eligibility. Isn't everyone? It is like those folks in the drive in lane at Chick Filet-A that take your order with a tablet.
  3. You will be required to make any copays or deductibles at the time of the visit and verify any insurance information.
  4. In accordance with recently passed CURES Act regulations, you will be notified of the test results when the ER doctor supervisor gets them before you are seen by a doctor.

https://www.healthit.gov/curesrule/resources/information-blocking-faqs):

“It would likely be considered an interference for purposes of information blocking if a health care provider established an organizational policy that, for example, imposed delays on the release of lab results for any period of time in order to allow an ordering clinician to review the results or in order to personally inform the patient of the results before a patient can electronically access such results (see also 85 FR 25842 specifying that such a practice does not qualify for the “Preventing Harm Exception).”

  1. If you decide to "test and run", i.e. leave without being seen by a physician, then you will be required to sign an AMA form (against medical advice), just like you would if you decided to leave the hospital if you were an inpatient.
  2. Be sure to give us accurate contact information with a preference as to how you want us to contact you the next day to see how you are doing
  3. Please indicate which doctor you will be seeing in follow up, if necessary, so we can prevent handoff leaks.
  4. If you do not have a doctor and need to see one, we will be happy to recommend one at WASP
  5. Please take advantage of our free parking at designated Test and Run spots
  6. You should be receiving a follow up survey by email and, in appreciation of your completing it, we will send you a free $10 Starbucks card so you can enjoy a cuppa on us while you are sitting there with your leg elevated, thinking about what you are going to do about your pandemic puppy buyer's remorse.

Also, pay a visit to our medical department store adjoining our facility, just in case you need some crutches, first aid supplies, bandages, OTC pain meds or splints.

For through the driver's side window tests, you might want to take advantage of our drive through window services.

Thank you again for choosing WASP Test and Run and for joining our growing community of empowered sickcare consumers. Despite our name, we won't sting you with high prices and a lousy experience.
