Welcome to the team Vincent Ogrigri!
Gascoyne Estates
To grow lasting social and commercial value for the communities we serve
We're delighted to introduce Vincent Ogrigri, Finance Manager, to our team here at Gascoyne Estates.
What inspired Vincent to join Gascoyne Estates? "I was inspired to join Hatfield Park as it offers unique challenges and opportunities. It has a long, rich history and has a direct impact on the communities it serves. It’s that ability to make a real difference to the societies it serves that excites and inspires me to join."
His professional journey has been marked by diverse experiences. "Early in my career, I worked at Enterprise Rent A Car on the sales graduate scheme before transitioning to Equitix in 2015 as an Accounts Assistant. My responsibilities grew in line with my CIMA studies, and upon qualifying in 2019, I worked as a Finance Manager, preparing financial and management accounts for several assets. Post Equitix, I've gained experience at other real estate services and investment firms, such as CBRE and more recently at Mapletree UK Limited, which ultimately led me to Gascoyne."
One of Gascoyne’s goals is to simplify its operations. "Having contracted in recent years, I thrive on coming into organisations and adding value by simplifying common tasks, which can lead to savings in time and ultimately money. This mission aligns perfectly with my approach."
As for his contribution to the broader team, he sees multiple avenues. "As part of the finance function at Gascoyne, I aim to add value by helping the business achieve cost reduction through robust budget control and monitoring. Additionally, by providing insightful analysis, I can contribute to driving growth. I'll also seek opportunities to create efficiencies within the department."
In his initial days at Hatfield Park, he found the warmth of the team to be most memorable. "In the short time I've been here, the people have had the biggest impact on me. Joining a complex business such as Gascoyne Estates can present challenges, but the team has helped me settle in effectively, and the experience has been very warm."
One particular experience stood out during his first few days. "I joined just before Christmas and was asked to attend a chicken parade! Yes, exactly, what is a chicken parade? I did not know what to expect but speaking with my colleagues put my mind at rest. I would like to add that the chicken was very delicious, which was a bonus as well."
Outside of work, Vincent enjoys staying active and indulging in his passion for food. "I like to keep active and enjoy staying fit through exercise or playing sports. I'm part of a 5-a-side football team and play weekly when the season is on. I also try to get down to the gym on other days to cycle or strength train. I love food, so I enjoy dining out with family or friends on the weekends."
Looking ahead, he envisions Gascoyne Estates and Hatfield Park making a positive impact in the community through engagement and sustainable practices. "I believe that hosting events and carefully listening to the issues communities face are key to engaging with local communities affected by future developments.”
In closing, he offered a metaphor for Gascoyne Estates, likening it to a game of Tug of War. "Despite the complexities and numerous parts of the business, everyone has a key part to play in its success, just like each hand pulling the rope in the game. Each one of the team here have their part to play."
We extend a warm welcome to our new Finance Manager and look forward to the valuable contributions he will bring to Gascoyne Estates.
