Welcome to the team

In a company that has been running since 1854 and with offices spread across many areas of the UK, it is not surprising that our colleagues come from diverse backgrounds and are at different stages of their career.

We recently welcomed Sam Craddock to the team, he joined us in March 2022 as Operations Manager for our Escalators ?business stream, and he is based from our Norton Office, in Stockton-on-Tees.

Sam served in the British Army for 17 years, starting as an Armoured Vehicle Mechanic and toward the end of his service he was an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Manager, serving all over the World on a variety of projects.

Sam’s role here at Pickerings, is to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Escalator Department, supervising engineers and trades persons in the execution and delivery of escalator and conveyor repairs and maintenance.

We asked Sam what attracted him to Pickerings?

“When I was preparing to leave the military, I was looking for a company that matched my ideals, a company where I could be a great asset, utilising my skills and experience as a Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Additionally, I was searching for a company that could provide me with an opportunity to grow as an Engineer and as a Manager.

When Sam is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, rock climbing, playing football or watching his favourite team Middlesbrough Football Club.
